Best of the Best Teachers

Highly qualified, motivated teachers play a key role in improving the education of our students.
Based on our original focus groups and teacher surveys, key issues related to teacher retention and job satisfaction are:
· Pay (local supplement) · Stress related to No Child Left Behind and other testing · Overcrowded classes, student-to-teacher ratio · Insufficient resources to set-up classroom and deliver curriculum · Lack of parental involvement and community support · Student discipline issues / safety at schools · Teaching profession no longer respected · Lack of support from administration · Access to professional development
Rowan Partners for Education realizes the importance of our teachers and their profession. Educators' Express, a free resource store for Rowan County public school teachers, came from our Best of the Best Teachers Committee and our Parental Involvement Committee. What better way to show teachers we care and that they are appreciated?
