Parental Involvement

Increasing parental involvement is crucial to the education of our students. Students whose parents are actively involved in their education have better grades, test scores and long-term academic achievement.

The Parental Involvement committee works on various activities to encourage parents to become involved in their child’s education.

In collaboration with Adolescent and Family Enrichment Council, RPE has offered Parents on Track workshops to encourage parents to help their child succeed in school.  In 2007 and 2008, workshops with child care were offered in various locations throughout Rowan County. Workshops included topics like:

·        identify your child’s learning style
·        build a strong partnership with teachers
·        resolve discipline problems at home and at school
·        develop your child’s self-confidence
